Accessibility
Our commitment to building a website that is accessible and usable for everyone, regardless of ability.
Building for Everyone
Makyn is committed to making our website usable by the widest possible audience, including people who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, and voice-recognition software. Accessibility is something we work at continuously, not a box we check once.
Our Reference Standard
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, as our reference standard. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and more usable for everyone. In practice, this includes things like:
- Sufficient color contrast between text and its background
- Keyboard-navigable menus, links, and interactive elements
- Descriptive alt text for meaningful images
- Clear heading structure to support navigation by screen reader
- Readable, resizable text that doesn't break the page layout when zoomed
A Continuous Process
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. As we add new pages and features to this site, we review them against our accessibility standards, and we periodically revisit existing pages to catch and fix issues. If you encounter a barrier anywhere on this site, we want to know about it so we can address it.
Let Us Know
If you experience any difficulty accessing content on this site, please contact us. Let us know the page you were on and the nature of the issue, and we'll work to address it as quickly as we can.
